Engagement lifecycle methodology

Part 1: Analysis

Our structured workshops blend IT Service Management (ITSM) tool capabilities with industry best practices, Column’s customer experiences, and your objectives and operating culture.

Part 2: Design

Our consultants gather and prioritize your requirements, conduct a gap analysis against out-of-the-box processes and workflows, and then develop and present a solution design. When your organization accepts it, Column draws on our extensive expertise in rapid application delivery to create a detailed construction plan.

Part 3: Construction

Our consultants construct the solution’s workflows, configurations, reports, dashboards, and other architectural elements.

Part 4: Testing

Testing spans the engagement lifecycle, and it helps assure each phase is fully verified and validated. Test activities encompass all functional and non-functional requirements and use appropriate baselines.

Part 5: Deployment

The Deployment phase promotes configuration changes from the development environment through test/QA and into production. We validate the migration process and all customer data many times throughout the construction phase. Later, we conduct go-live readiness assessments and final testing against the production environment to assure readiness and acceptance.

User training is a parallel activity, and the transition to the chosen support model assures a successful deployment. We also finalize documentation for acceptance and confirm the next steps.

Part 6: Optimization

Column recommends solution review and optimization within three to six months after go live. Optimization activities measure the expected process improvements and service metrics your organization defined in the project charter and design phases.

We also review system performance, data integrity, process compliance, and the cultural and operational changes to fully staff and execute each business function.
